The Albee Issue Sep/Oct 2017
$20.00

This edition of The Dramatist is dedicated to playwright Edward Albee, who passed away in September 2016. As stated in this issue's Editor's Note, "the impact and influence of Edward Albee's plays, coupled with his career-long commitment to and participation in the Guild, warrants a special tribute." Several articles of Albee's were reprinted for this special issue, among them The Craft and Why You Should Join the Guild. Fellow playwrights, including Tina Howe, Jon Robin Baitz and Jacqueline Lawton, reflect upon how they were influenced by specific works that Albee wrote, Brenden Jacobs-Jenkins moderates a Roundtable on Albee's legacy, and Terrence McNally writes about Albee's deep rooted connection to the Guild. Additional tributes to Albee are penned by John Guare, Adrienne Kennedy, Emily Mann, Chris Weikel, Lindsey Ferrentino and Jakob Holder.
