In October 2021, the Dramatists Guild hosted its very first Educator Appreciation Week. The week of special online programming celebrated the vital bond between dramatists and educators, who often work together to nurture creativity within their communities.
This webinar, led by panelists Jonathan Dorf, Stephen Kaplan, and David Valdes, provided teachers with tools, resources, and lesson ideas to help them introduce their students to a broad array of playwrights and plays that otherwise might not have been on their radar. Teachers also had the opportunity to join breakout rooms and to take part in conversations on how to invigorate their curriculum based upon what their fellow educators are currently teaching in their classrooms.
